Add it in Squarespace

Code Injection isn't available on Squarespace's entry-level plan — check your plan if you can't find it.

  1. Copy your snippet

    In your ChatKit dashboard, open Install and copy the one-line snippet.

  2. Open Code Injection

    In Squarespace, open Code Injection (Settings → Advanced → Code Injection, or type “code injection” into the dashboard search if menus have moved).

  3. Paste into Footer

    Paste the snippet into the Footer field and save. It appears on every page.

Yes. Site-wide footer injection works on every template, and the chat runs in its own isolated frame so it can't disturb your design.
Can it check my availability?
It can't see your calendar. It answers from your pages and, for date questions, captures the inquiry or shares your booking link so you confirm availability yourself.
Does it work with Squarespace Commerce?
It answers product, shipping and returns questions from your store pages. There's no Squarespace order lookup yet, so order questions are handed to you.
Do visitors need an account to chat?
No. They just type. You choose whether to ask for contact details before the chat, after a few messages, or only when they want a person.
